Facebook is the leading social media platform with over 2 billion monthly active users as of the time of this post. Facebook users share their personal information like photos, videos, events and posts. Users voluntarily upload everything about their personal life to share with their friends and to show off their abilities and accomplishments in life. If you’ve uploaded and shared a lot of personal information on facebook through the years, it is a good idea to have a backup of your data so that you will not lose your data if ever facebook will go down.
It’s a good thing that facebook allows users to download personal data stored on its database. You can download a copy of just everything you’ve shared including profile information, photos, videos, timeline data, posts on walls and even conversations.
Since your facebook backup contains highly sensitive information like photographs, images and other stuffs, facebook strongly recommends that you keep your downloaded data in a secure place. You can store it on a CD or you can save it into your usb flash drive and secure it through BitLocker. The backup contains folders of photos, videos and html files where you can use to navigate through your data.
